SMUT Krida Nusantara is a boarding school located in western part of Bandung at a hilly place with a pleasant and healthy environment. This boarding school which has a reputation for high standard of discipline gives its students opportunities to develop their general skills as well as academic skills.

Among them are students with great artistic talent and they join together in a group called Krida Art group. It has been developed very well under the guidance of skilled and experienced art teachers.

Krida Art Group has participated in many art events held by West Java authorities to present art and cultural performances to welcome foreign guest. Such as: many hotels in Bandung, in the government, etc. This group has also participated in many festivals in Europa (see this link)

BASIC CONSIDERATION.

A school is a place where formal education takes place, various subject matters and knowledge develop, and individual and social cultures interact.

Students' characters can be develop through art education. Therefore, it is very important to build up students' interest on traditional values in arts and cultures.

One of the efforts to support this is to establish an art group to present Indonesian mostly West Java traditional art and cultural performances.

On this occasion these performances will be presented in the "International Folklore Festivals" in several country's promoting arts and cultures with the hope that it will also give meaningful experiences to the students.

This art group has been established eith the conviction that maintaining art and culture means establishing nation characters and nation strength in the framework of enhancing nation prestige.

AIMS.

• To fill and strengthen cooperation and friendship among nations.

• To enhance Indonesian image in the International Forum.

• To help promoting Tourism industry and Indonesian business institution.

• To fulfill the invitation of several Folklore Festivals in Europe

TARGETS.

• Achievement of extending broader experience and perception on the International level to the students.

• Achievement of extending the performance and stage experiences on the International level to the students.

• Achievement of cooperation and friendship among nations through their festival participant representatives.

• Achievement of enhancing Indonesian image in International Forum through cultural and art appreciation.

• Achievement of promotion effort of Indonesian Tourism Industry in other countries specifically in Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and France.

TIME.

• The Krida Art Group 1 did carry out its mission from 7 July until 28 July 2002.

• The Krida Art Group 2 did carry out its mission from 1 July until 22 July 2003

• The Krida Art Group 3 did carry out its mission from 29 June until 22 July 2004

• The Krida Art Group 4 did carry out its mission from 15 July until 8 August 2005

• The Krida Art Group 5 did carry out its mission from 8 August until 30 August 2006

• The Krida Art Group 6 did carry out its mission from 23 June until 23 July 2008

• The Krida Art Group 7 did carry out its mission from 2 July until 28 July 2009

• The Krida Art Group 8 did carry out its mission from 29 June untill 22 July 2010

• That is temporary also the last time that Krida Art Group will come to Europa.

- Group Members : 37 SMUT KRIDA NUSANTARA students of second grade.

The 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2009 and 2010 tour are coordinated in Europa by : The Frodo Production Foundation and Gert Jansen and PudjiAstuti Jansen S.Pd, living in the Netherlands.

Both are also representatief of KABUMI IKIP BANDUNG.

We work together with the Foundation "Frodo Production" to organized this kind of trips also for several other groups from Indonesia, just to promote Indonesian Culture, without any financial of political aim.

Every year we helped Krida in Europe, and now all will stop after July 2010.

But Frodo Production will go on promoting Indonesian Cultural in Europa.

Pudji is also very busy with al kind of other activity as Indonesian cooking and dance workshops and she is also performing with several traditional folklore dances at all kind of places.
